Make Something Monday - Vintage Vase Edition

Today we are going to inspire you to make a new vase from something you already have. I am sure that you received flowers or have an old vase that can use a little updating. The vase that we created in the picture was a square vase and we used a thick velvet patterned paper. We wanted to achieve a vintage elegant look so we added velvet ribbon and some vintage looking broaches.

Supplies:
1 clear vase
Decorative craft paper
Ribbon
Hot glue gun
double sided tape
old broach/pin or applique

1. Take your decorative paper and wrap it around your vase
2. Cut to fit your vase but leave a little more at the top to over lap a little bit.
3. Use double sided tape to secure the paper to the vase make sure that you used enough tape to make this paper secure. The double sided tape is pretty strong to make sure that you have the paper on correctly.
4. Once paper is secure to vase decorate with ribbon and broach as desired

The great thing about creating this vase is that you can just rip the paper off and start all over with another look that does not cost more then $5.00 to $10.00. You can us date this vase for the holidays or just have it match the decor in each room.

Tell Me Something Tuesday - The Wine Tip

How much more snow can you handle? We all could use a glass of wine to help get through these snowy days! For those of you who like ice in your wine, class it up by freezing some grapes to chill your wine without watering it down. Happy National Wine Day!

Valentine's Day Fun

This is a post for my parents... Tomorrow is Valentine's Day as you know and of course your children are your #1 sweeties. Make their day special too. The little things that you do make all the difference. Here are some easy, cute and inexpensive ideas.
1. When make their lunch you can make sandwiches into a heart shape. Also add some strawberries and cut them in heart shapes. It is healthy and so cute. Any lunch item you pack for them make into a heart shape.
2. Pack a Little treat with a note for them. If you do not have a printed to make a note just make a hand note with hearts and if you have time get stickers too to make the packaging really colorful and fun.
3. Pack a red or pink flavored drink for lunch. Add a note attached how much you love them. Adding a picture of them makes it even more special and personalized!
