Pink Monkey Gets Married!

Here at Pink Monkey we have some very exciting news... Michelle, owner of Pink Monkey Events, got married this past December and we couldn’t wait to share the details with you! It all started with a gorgeous pair of Wedgwood blue (Michelle & her fiancée’s favorite color) satin Badley Mischka heels that Michelle spotted right after their engagement that would inevitably inspire the entire event. We had the shoes in our office because we were constantly referring back to them while planning and obsessing over the unique shade of blue. But panic set in when the shoes mysteriously went missing and being the key element, we were on a mission to find these shoes. After tearing apart the office, Michelle’s fiancée took her back to the store to buy a new pair and all that was left was one pair that was 1/2 size bigger but she vowed to make them work! After every wedding there is a funny story to tell and this wedding just happened to start with one. Once everyone could focus now that the shoes were back, we had so much fun working together to plan this event to make it this wedding perfect for this perfect couple.

Taking place in the sleek and modern venue, Tribeca Skyline Studios, not only lent itself to breathtaking views of the city and expectational service but gave us a clean slate to work with so we could make Michelle’s vision a reality. Michelle chose a theme of vintage gold, lavish red and ice blue that incorporated a touch of wintery elements that made for stunning decor. There were so many fun and unique elements to this event from monogrammed pillows on the lounge couches to the cocktail napkins on the bar to the miniature birds nests that created a one-of-a-kind seating card table. We created an invite that was presented as a beautiful package that encompassed the overall feel of the event with feathers, a vintage rhinestone broach and satin ribbon. The tables were adorned with crisp blue linens, antique gold votives, elaborate candelabras, bold red roses and lavish gold flatware. Special thanks to Jessie from Rountree Flowers for the flawless job she did creating the extraordinary floral arrangements and additional decor elements. Michelle also wanted her wedding to feel personal so there were special custom touches throughout. The ring barriers’ pillows were embellished with the bride & groom’s initials and the wedding date. Being the romantic that he is, her soon to be husband bought Michelle a exquisite fur coat as a pre wedding gift that the couple had embroidered specifically for the wedding day. Also not typical for most of our weddings, Michelle wanted to make sure we had something fun for the large number of children attending. We set up a super cool kid’s lounge equipped with Wii, karaoke and tons of games to keep the children happy and their parents even happier. We are so happy to share with all of you this wedding that has such an extra special meaning to Pink Monkey Events! Company Winter Wonderland

For this corporate holiday party, the client wanted to create a Winter Wonderland in this trendy New York City nightclub. Cool blue lighting was key to creating this wintery atmosphere. The focal points were two frosted Christmas trees adorned with multi-colored blue, silver and white ornaments, mini birds, feathers, pinecones and icicles. Pink Monkey Events likes to add fun elements to Christmas trees rather than sticking to just the typical ornaments. We also used an abundance of white branches to cover all the railings for a wintery feel. These same branches filled tall vases filled with snow to make grand bar arrangements incorporating the theme. Additional décor included frosted candle votives, strands of white Christmas lights, all white floral arrangements and glittery snowflakes throughout the room to finish the look. Finally a yummy signature cocktail, gift raffle, lots of dancing and a faux snowfall helped to make for a fun and festive evening for all guests!

A Gorgeous Day for a Gorgeous Couple

This wedding cannot help but put a smile on your face! This beautiful afternoon wedding was casual enough to let everyone’s happiness take center stage. The rustic yet elegant theme suited the couple perfectly and made for a heartwarming occasion. The color palette of crisp navy, bright yellow and vibrant green worked perfectly for this September wedding. Although this was a Manhattan wedding, there was certainly an outdoorsy feel. The decor was kept very natural using tree bark, branches, green apples as well as fresh flowers to emphasize the simplistic theme. The venue, The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, allowed for plenty of natural light to pour in from the floor to ceiling windows displaying a gorgeous view of the Hudson River. The favors were one of the most special aspects of this wedding. Gourmet bottles of olive oil were given out which was a unique idea that was the perfect way for their guests to remember the event.

True Love

For this event, we focused on coordination insuring that everything ran smoothly so their love was center stage. We helped every step of the way with the traditional tea ceremony, ceremony and reception. Pink Monkey Events handled every aspect from making sure the groomsmen’s boutonnieres were on straight to the timing of the wedding to stay on schedule. This couple’s happiness filled the room making this lovely afternoon wedding a joyous occasion for all.

Why You Really Do Need An Event Planner

Some may wonder why hiring an event planner is necessary but trust us when we say, we are here to make your life easier! After years of experience there are countless occasions when Pink Monkey Events have saved the day. From torrential rain, dress malfunctions, drunk party guests and wedding crashers… we have been through it all. When it is your special day you shouldn’t be the one who has to worry when things go wrong because that’s what we are here for. There is no problem that Pink Monkey can’t fix!

Wardrobe malfunctions:

Some of our most memorable calamities revolve around dress problems. It is almost inevitable that throughout the course of any wedding, that some sort of wardrobe malfunction take place. Whether it be a torn bustle, ripped hemline, makeup on the groom’s tux or even an exposed bra strap, we make it our priority to insure you look picture perfect at all times. Our sewing kit equipped with needle and thread is sure to come to every event and on more than one occasion has been put to good use.

Party guest problems:

Another crucial element to our role is damage control. Pink Monkey Events is focused on keeping the bride and groom happy at all times so we try our best to deal with all problems quietly. One extreme example was at a wedding when a family member suffered from a serious asthma attack on the dance floor. We made it our responsibility to have an ambulance come quickly yet discreetly to first and foremost insure the safety of the guest but also to keep the party running smoothly. On a lighter note, we have experience with party guests that have had one too many cocktails. Rather than embarrass the guest by doing something extreme such as cutting them off, we simply water down their drinks, encourage them to eat or offer them some strong coffee. Continuing with difficult guests, party crashers are another bothersome element that we are all too accustomed with. In such situations we aim to find security dressed in plain clothes that can calmly escort the uninvited guest out without averting any attention from the party.

Vendor dilemmas:

In addition, working with vendors can be another headache that we are happy to take care of for our clients. On numerous occasions we have had problems such as dead flowers, broken centerpieces, under-staffed venues and late caterers, just to name a few. Monkey Events always comes prepared to rectify these situations by staying on top of our vendors and always having a backup plan. We are not afraid to take matters into our own hands when necessary. If need be, we will step in to serve food, mix cocktails or create last minute centerpieces because there’s no job we won’t do! For one wedding, the lead singer of the band unfortunately got into a car accident so we had to help the other unprepared band members with song choices on the spot but the musical performance went off without a hitch.

From researching street closures to avoid traffic to purchasing rain boots and umbrellas in preparation for a wedding taking place during a hurricane, Pink Monkey Events goal remains the same… to insure your event is all you dreamed it would be no matter what your special day has in store!

Our job is to make sure everyone including the bride, groom, family and friends don’t have to worry about a thing. For this event, we did the coordination and took care of everything to insure everyone had a carefree and memorable time. Even the flower girl was relaxed knowing Pink Monkey Events had everything under control!

No Hurricane Could Stop Us!

Pink Monkey Events believes that come rain, sleet, sun or snow nothing can stop your special day from being everything you dreamed of! This wedding is proof of this philosophy given that this one took place during Hurricane Irene. To make matters worse, the wedding was set to be outdoors so this torrential weather had the potential to have a serious damper on the event but we would not have that! We improvised and used chic black umbrellas to provide coverage from the rain during the outdoor ceremony and luckily these impromptu accessories added a playful yet unique touch. As for the reception, we moved the location indoors and used sleek gunmetal linens and crisp white floral centerpieces to dress the tables. Warm amber lighting and an abundance of candles were also used to set an intimate vibe in the room. We incorporated a NYC theme in their table numbers and menus to personalize the event to the couple. Although the decor was sophisticated, the party was all about fun! The cocktail party even allowed guests to play a game of pool together which kicked off this event in a special way. Later, the reception was followed by an after-party that included more dancing and yummy fun snacks for the guest to enjoy. Nothing could rain on this parade! The Vacation Starts Here!

For this destination wedding we decided to take the invites to the next level to incorporate the playful island theme. We used three mini suitcases in crisp green and vibrant turquoise that each contained a different element to the invite. Our vision was that when the guest opened each suitcase, what was inside each time would be a fun surprise. The top suitcase contained the elegant, handmade invite revealing the incredible tropical location. Then as the guest continued to unpack their goodies, they discovered chic leather passport holders and travel essentials such as hand wipes, chapstick, sunblock, Airborne, Colgate wisps, individual packs of tissues and Listerine Pocket Packs in the second suitcase. It continues to get better from there when the bottom suitcase is opened to reveal a Brookstone N.A.P Travel Kit which included a lush sleep mask, neck pillow and ear plugs to keep the guests comfortable on their flight along with a great read. It was important for this specific bride and groom that their guests felt special and enthusiastic for this trip from the moment they received their invitation and these one-of-a-kind invites did just that!

The venue, Tribeca Skyline Studios, offered a simple and sleek space which suited this event perfectly. The clean slate lend itself perfectly to some pops of color throughout using striking magenta with chic navy blue accents. The bride's love for orchids served as an inspiration for the beautiful color palette. The decor was simplistic yet elegant incorporating beautiful flowers such peonies and of course, orchids, in various shades of pink which added to the fun. The bride glowed in her elaborate Chinese dress during the traditional Tea Ceremony. We even recreated the cover of The New Yorker to serve as seating cards to include the couple's favorite city. Another personalized touch we loved was the custom runner created just for them. This wedding seamlessly blended current trends with tradition making for a truly special event!

Even though the holidays come and go and we have all eaten way too much, everyone can still appreciate the beauty and playfulness of food photography. Who doesn’t love food at a party? Often the food can be one of the most memorable aspects of any event so it is only natural that all photographers often include shots of the delectable bites and scrumptious drinks to add to the memories. As if monkeys could get any better, now they can be made out of cake! These absolutely adorable candy/cake pops were made by one of our favorite vendors, Sarandipity Sweets. This vendor is the perfect match for Pink Monkey Events since she features these monkey cake pops. Not only are they too cute for words but they taste delicious too! These cake pops are filled with yummy, moist cake that is available in an array of flavors (so far we've tried the chocolate & yellow cake and loved both!). These bite sized treats are perfect for party favors, a unique gift or even an afternoon snack as we sometimes enjoy in the office!

Did you know that Pink Monkey Events does way more than weddings? We love to party but we can also get down to business as we love doing corporate events. This was our fifth year working with our favorite corporate client Värde Partners for their annual investor conference. The conference was held in the iconic St. Regis hotel in their grand “roof” room. The elegant gold surroundings of this room and crisp white linens were the start of a great foundation for this room. But it was missing the warmth of a personal touch. Therefore we made colorful flowers arrangements to create interest by using flowers in shades of deep reds and violets. Since the guests at this conference would be in the room listening to presentations for a while, we wanted to add a little excitement to liven up the space. Its amazing how a touch of bold color can transform a room! After the conference there was a cocktail reception with lite bites and drinks for the guests to unwind. Once again Belathée photography captured the beauty of this event.

Giving Back Leaves Us Tickled Pink

Pink Monkey Events loves to give back whenever we can! Our latest good deed was a donation for the Jewish Community Center of Manhattan. We donated this Spring inspired flower arrangement along with a floral design class for their silent auction. We created use pale pink, vibrant green and some hot pink roses in a rustic branch pot that makes for a lovely arrangement that is classic Pink Monkey. The floral design class was for the lucky winner plus three friends in the quaint backyard of our Upper West Side office. This class would include a lesson on how to create your very own flower arrangements, one for Fall/Winter and another for Spring/Summer, so the winners could have their own gorgeous flower arrangements year round. Giving back to the community leaves us tickled pink!

Classic New York Speakeasy Soiree

For this surprise 40th birthday party we wanted to create an ultra swanky, classic New York vibe. We were thrilled that the Birthday Boy was genuinely surprised and we were even more thrilled to see that he loved the creative theme. Pink Monkey Events pulled out all the stops to make this party feel as if you were truly taken back in time to 1920’s New York. We created the décor using deep red roses, black ostrich feathers and antique silver vases to complete the classic New York theme. Feather boas, top hats, strands of pearls, faux cigars and gloves were also provided for the guests to add to their black tie attire for a playful touch. The Avenue lounge in NYC was the perfect venue for this party with its Speakeasy setting. At the end of the night, we even rented a vintage trolley to take the guests to the after-party and complete this unforgettable evening. This trendy party is the perfect example of how theme parties can be both sophisticated and fun if done right! Jayd Gardina captured this celebration effortlessly with amazing photography as always.

Backyard Field Of Dreams

Just to be clear..For the record Pink Monkey’s favorite team is the New York Yankees but we took one for the team to create this Met’s Birthday Bash for Ryan and Michael. These brother’s won free birthday party from a contest but never received their promised party. The family contacted Channel 7’s ‘Shame on You’ on the matter who then contacted us to give them the proper party they deserved. We were happy to give the boys the party they hoped for! For this backyard birthday bash we thought it would be fun to create life size Met’s baseball players using mannequins as the centerpieces since no young boys really want floral arrangements at their party! We perched the “players” on mounds of grass on top each table. Each chair was covered with a Met’s jersey that doubled as favors for all the guests. A soft pretzel machine completed this event giving it the ultimate game day feel. Us Pink Monkeys may not seem like the athletic type but we certainly know how to play hard ball when it comes to parties!

Not Your Ordinary Office Party

We can transform any space to make for an amazing event. For this office holiday party, we used their office for the venue and worked with what they had to make for a festive event with an array of holiday décor. We even used the reception desk to create a makeshift bar! With lush greenery, berries, pinecones and red roses used in the arrangements this festive event made for an office party unlike any other. Most offices are not the ideal setting for a holiday party but with the right décor, any room can become the perfect place for a party. Pink Monkey Events loves to use gold for the holidays and the gold linens helped to warm up this stark setting. If budget constraints do not allow for the ideal venue, not to worry! Pink Monkey can create a masterpiece out of any space with the right amount of creativity and imagination.

A Fun and Festive Holiday

We wanted to make this holiday party unique and specialized to their company. This company's logo is blue so we took on the challenge of creating blue festive holiday decor. We at Pink Monkey Events love to create holiday parties but without your typical Christmas red and green. A beautiful yet festive theme of vibrant green, teal blue and gold with subtle touches of deep red roses made for an incredible corporate event unlike any other. We used a trendy, Asian inspired venue which we turned into a sophisticated holiday event with the addition of colorful and fun decor. We brought in a large tree and covered it in an abundance of colorful ornaments and some added surprises such as tiny peacocks, feathers, ribbon and strands upon strands of glistening white lights. We used a term commonly used within the company to name our signature cocktail that was colored in the company's logo color. We even went a step further and had a light projected on the dance floor with the logo. Our goal is to make every party special to the client and different from anything done in the past and this party did just that!

Christmas Tree Lighting at Pink Monkey Events

It may not be as grand as the tree in Rockefeller Center but its certainly full of heart! We love to make our office feel like a home away from home for not only us Pink Monkeys but for our clients as well! We often have Christmas trees at our holiday events and we wanted ours to be just a special and grand. Adorned with an abundance of burgundy, gold & of course pink ornaments, our tree makes our office feel fabulously festive. We used an array of ornaments from vintage to glittery gold snowflakes. Our tree was topped with a huge homemade bow with long flowing swags down each side which is our Pink Monkey trademark on any tree we do. We love decorating our office for all of our clients to enjoy so we made sure to take a quick break during our busy day to bring some holiday spirit into our office!

50th Birthday Party Paints the Town Red

We were inspired by her favorite color and used various shades of red from deep burgundy to vibrant crimson in the floral arrangements, linens and décor elements.With this event being in the Fall, we incorporated Fall details into the décor since red is an essential shade of the season. Pink Monkey Events used red roses, fall leaves, branches, gold accents and candles to make this birthday party sophisticated yet festive. This event had an intimate, warm feel that Pink Monkey Events loves. Soft lighting, rich colors and lush décor made this party birthday stand out from the rest. Birthday parties can have an array of design schemes and can range from playful to trendy to intimate as shown with this beautiful event.

Keeping It Personal

With this 40th Birthday we wanted to make this party personal. This birthday party was the perfect opportunity to celebrate all areas of Dean’s life. We used unique touches to make this party personal. This unbelievable Wall Street Journal cake featured all the highlights of Dean’s year with some added humor. The cake was the highlight of the evening and brought a special touch to this party. We kept the décor clean to compliment the minimalistic, loungy feel of this Tribeca Skyline Studios venue. Crisp linens and florals allowed for the personal details to be the star. We created a signature cocktail, “Dean’s Big 4-0h Mojito” and decorated the bar with fun drink tags. To make this party ideal for Dean there were also poker tables and Nintendo Wii for the guests to enjoy if they wanted to take a break from dancing. Pink Monkey Events loves to incorporate our client’s personality into the party to make it memorable for both the client and the guests!

Add More than Just Turkey to Your Table

Thanksgiving is one of our favorite times of the year! Fall lends itself to an abundance of colorful decorative ideas. The warm colors of the season allow for a truly inviting table setting. A festive table setting whether for a family of 4 or 40, make the holidays that much more special. We love to put colored leaves down the center of the table in place of a table runner to incorporate the outdoors. We also included amber votives and rustic flower arrangements. Another fun fall detail was to tie a piece of wheat around the napkin with a ribbon. The small details are very important to make a table setting truly special. You can even use Mason jars instead of glass vases for a rustic elegant look! Who says the turkey needs to be the only focus of your Thanksgiving table?

Falling For Pink Monkey

Is there anything more beautiful than New York City in the fall? Well maybe Pink Monkey Events fall weddings. This season lends itself to beautiful warm colors and unique elements that can only be used for a couple short months. Luckily for us September and October are our busiest months for weddings! After all who doesn’t love fall in New York? Luckily in New York the weather is still mild enough to have an outdoor event in October so you can enjoy the changing foliage around you. In this wedding we incorporated pinecones, pears and colored leaves in with the roses to embrace this wonderful season. Deep reds, browns and burnt orange made for a lovely color palette. A properly done fall theme never fails because the season is the essence of warmth, which seamlessly goes well with weddings!

Chic Arizona Weekend

Our latest destination wedding was nothing short of spectacular! The entire weekend was planned to be enjoyable for all the guests as well as the couple. From the time everyone arrived at the hotel to the final farewell brunch we made sure every detail was taken care of. Jacqueline and Kevin, are such a chic couple that me made sure these events reflected both their personalities and style. The weekend began with a sexy, outdoor welcome reception where the guests enjoyed some light bites along with plenty of fun and yummy cocktails. Let’s not forget the homemade gelato station at the end of the night! We transformed the hotel’s pool area into a ultra trendy lounge for the guests to mingle and enjoy the first night of their wedding weekend. We played with blue colored lights to set the mood of this event. The following day was the ceremony that included the breathtaking views of Arizona as the backdrop which looked almost too beautiful to be real! We incorporated the theme of hot pinks, oranges and yellows in the ceremony with a beautiful and plush aisle of colorful rose petals. Another unique detail was the hanging crystals above the couple as they said their vows that caught the sunlight to create just enough sparkle. The fun continued at the end of the ceremony when the bride surprised the groom with a traditional 2nd line band for lead them into their cocktail and dinner reception. The chic theme of vibrant colors and playful textures made this reception one to remember. The décor matched both what the couple wanted as well as their destination which was so important to us. With warm and bright floral arrangements combined with tons of candles, this party combined style with fun effortlessly. This wedding would not have been the same without the outstanding photographs to remember it by. We love the photographer Sergio for totally capturing the entire vibe of this weekend! He understood our attention to detail and captured it with ease. We also want to thank the florist Avant-Garde for bringing all of the elements to this wedding to life with total sophistication and talent!

Broadway Bash

One of our most fun and creative events we worked on was Bebe’s Broadway Bat Mitzvah. Since Bebe is such a huge fan of Broadway it was only natural for us to make her the most creative Broadway themed bat mitzvah we could! We asked Bebe what all her favorite Broadway shows were, new or old, and incorporated each table centerpiece around each show. The centerpieces were created from life size mannequins that took this bat mitzvah to the next level. The centerpieces were the talk of the party and made Bebe’s party different than all others! We decided to use mini NYC taxis to create mini “BeBe Bills” that held the seating cards. Due to the fun décor, this event was a hit for the adults and the children. At Pink Monkey Events, our main priority is to make sure our clients are as happy as possible and we were so pleased to do that for Bebe. It meant so much to us when Bebe’s mom began to tear near the end of the party when telling us “it was the most incredible thing she ever saw and it was beyond what they were hoping for." After hearing this, we knew we did our job because we made Bebe’s dream party come true!

An Asian Inspired Affair

This Asian and Jewish wedding celebration focused on tradition and love. When Allaya and Eric first came to Pink Monkey Events they had a vision but were unsure of how to make everything work. We decided to use the color red to express their bright personalities. We used a color palette of black, white and red that created drama. We combined the bride’s Asian background with the couple’s Jewish religion to make a truly unique affair. The balance of tradition and culture made this wedding very personal to the couple. We hung lanterns in their colors and covered the chairs in a damask black and white patterned fabric to transform the room. With all the décor and personal touches, the venue was extremely warm and inviting. Pink Monkey Events knows its is important to make weddings about the couples so we used their backgrounds to inspire this unforgettable wedding.

Bringing the Outdoors In

Pink Monkey Events loves nothing more than a playful wedding! This spring wedding has playful, colorful and fun flower arrangements that made it a truly unforgettable event! Jessie, owner of Rountree Flowers, does it again by making this wedding simply perfect! The gorgeous combination of pink and green flowers makes for an amazing bouquet that the bride adored. She transformed the room into an indoor garden with elegant arrangements that were breathtaking. Jessie also made sure the centerpieces had the drama this wedding needed to stand out in this ornate space. Jessie proves again how genius she is with her creation of both high and low arrangements that complemented the height of the room. Since this venue was so lavish we toned it down by incorporating earth elements into this garden theme.

Great Gatsby Elegance

One of our favorite weddings was a Gatsby elegance inspired wedding, as seen in Bridal Guide magazine. Not only were Elizabeth and Jeremy a gorgeous couple but they had impeccable taste too! So many details went into making this event a truly classic affair almost like an event the Great Gatsby would have thrown himself. Incorporating a muted color palette of purples, grey, peach and white the ambiance of this event was beautiful. A grand ballroom filled with large floral centerpieces and an array of vintage elements the Great Gatsby came alive at this wedding. There was the perfect balance of fun and sophistication that made for an unforgettable night!

Pink Monkey loves a romantic and intimate affair! The simplistic theme of this September wedding fit the couple’s style. This wedding was gorgeous with luscious reds and crisp white with gold accents. This wedding was the epitome of romance. This stunning bride wore a gorgeous dress that she paired with a birdcage veil which was perfect for her style. Tall clear vases with beautiful red and white flowers made for truly elegant centerpieces. The couple had a cupcake tower with a cake top for them to cut which was a fun detail but still incorporated their colors. This wedding proves that you don’t need all the bells and whistles to make for an incredible event. With the right colors and details, it does not take much to create an amazing event. The most important thing is to stay true to yourself and your wedding will reflect that!

A Storybook Wedding

This wedding revolved around nature and romance. This gorgeous couple perfectly fit the role of bride and groom. The bride looked stunning with her loose hair flowing against her beautiful lace gown. The groom was her perfect complement in a crisp navy suit that was perfectly tailored. On their special day, the couple looked like they stepped right out of a story book so it was fitting that the wedding took place at a magnificent castle. Their ceremony was picturesque but as soon as they said their I do’s the party began. This wedding was different in the fact that there was no sit down dinner to stop the guest from partying. The cocktail hour was an array of elegant bite sized food that continued to get more lush and decadent as the night progressed. For this party, this idea was perfect because the guests could enjoy the night without ever having to stop and eat. The flower arrangements in lavenders, peaches and ivory that complemented the lovely country setting. We incorporated nature into the reception to keep in theme with the rustic yet elegant vibe of this wedding. Pink Monkey Events wanted to make sure this wedding was special and it turned out just like a fairytale!

Harley, our very own Pink Monkey, is this month’s Monkey of the Month! Harley is our little diva but we love her no matter how demanding she may me. Just because she is a dog (but don't tell her that) doesn’t mean she doesn’t know what she wants! Harley’s wagging tail, charming snoring and adorable face brightens up every day at our Pink Monkey Events office and for that she is our pick for Monkey of the Month!

Rooftop Sophistication

We at Pink Monkey Events always say that the couple makes the wedding! Emily and Dave were one of our favorite couples of all time. We admired both their grace and love for one another. We made sure to have their elegance reflected into all aspects of their wedding. This gorgeous event took place at the Tribecca Rooftop, one of our favorite venues. This Manhattan location showcases the amazing NYC skyline that makes for a truly breathtaking backdrop. The cocktail hour took place on the amazing rooftop and the reception followed in the spacious, loft-like space inside. Every detail from the bride’s fabulous purple shoes to the lush flower arrangements reflected the couple’s style. The floral arrangements were in decadent purple in shades of lavender and eggplant added to the overall theme. No matter how amazing the décor, food and venue their family and friends made this party. Both sides of the family were so sincere and gracious that it was our pleasure to create this special event for this couple!

A Pink Monkey Super Sweet 16

At Pink Monkey Events we are all about making our clients happy! Our goal is to make your event all about you and what you like. When we had our very first client meeting with Adriana, our very own sweet 16 superstar, she expressed her love for purple and hot pink. At Pink Monkey Events your wish is our command! We created this event with tons of purple and hot pink along with masks and other décor to make for a fun carnival theme. For this 4th of July Sweet 16 we got lucky enough to be located close enough to the East River to get to enjoy the free fireworks. This was a special treat because for those of you that don’t know, the average firework show costs $1000 per minute! The fireworks fit perfectly with this party because with all the glitz and glam that was the only thing this event was missing! This vibrant and over the top event was our very own version of a Pink Monkey Events Super Sweet 16 and it was truly spectacular.

From Trash to Treasure

Don’t throw away your old wine bottle corks! You never know what you could do with what may seem like trash. We at Pink Monkey Events can find a use for anything! Corks can be used as stands to hold up table numbers or for escort cards. As seen in the photos you can use them stacked together or individually. Corks give a homemade touch to any event. This detail is perfect for cocktail parties and since wine is connected with celebrating, old corks can add to any celebratory event!

Summertime in Manhattan

For this event we were given the task to create a summer garden in Manhattan. Pink Monkey Events was up for the challenge! NYC is an amazing city but lacks the nature that is so important in the summer season. We knew flowers and nature were important to this bride so we made sure to bring summertime to Manhattan. Pink Monkey Events used faux tree trunks (that were made of cork) as the base of the flower arrangements and filled them with as many bright and colorful flowers as possible for a garden like feel. With flowers in pinks, purples, peaches and yellows we incorporated green to create contrast. We framed the table numbers in green moss to include more outdoor elements. Since this wedding was in hot hot summer, they gave out vintage looking hand painted fans that added a fun detail and also helped to keep guests cool. They kept the theme consistent in having flowers painted on the fans as well. No matter where your event we love to make your dream come true! Who knew a summer garden in Manhattan was possible? Pink Monkey loves to make your vision reality!

Personalize Your Parasols

As with our June wedding we used parasols but with a unique detail. Parasols are often used in weddings for either blocking the sun or simply for the look. These additions can make for great photo ops as well as keep you cool during a summer wedding. To make your special day even more special be sure to include personal touches. We hand painted these parasols with coral flowers from the inspiration of the invites that were sent to all guests.

The vibrant colors painted on to the crisp white parasols fit perfectly for a summer wedding. This detail took these parasols from simple to absolutely beautiful. Individual elements such as this are usually what make your day truly memorable for you and your guests so don’t be afraid to let your personality show!

One Spectacular Voyage

For this pre-wedding celebration guests went onboard a elegant yacht that made for one of the most spectacular venues we have ever worked on! The yacht itself was stunning so we worked with the décor to compliment the amazing venue. The guests knew they were in for a night of partying upon boarding this grand yacht. The couple’s style was portrayed throughout the entire evening from the first cocktail that guests were greeted with to the nautical themed candy bar. This classy event made for a spectacular voyage. The creative and talented caterer, Scozzi, made this event different than all others. Not only was all of the food delicious but the playful way to presenting the food was brilliant. The guests adored the sushi, caviar and other tasty treats Scoozi created. For the color palette we used crisp white and navy blue to go along with the nautical theme. Pink Monkey loves to include personal touches so we also included their family crest within the décor. We even made sure the flowers were classic and sophisticated so we used white orchids, hydrangeas and gerber daisies. Pink Monkey Events loves a pop of color so we decided to bring bright orange into this event! We placed orange and yellow gerber daises floating in a bowl of water with orange crystals on the tables alongside the crisp white flower arrangements. Since shoes are not allowed to be worn aboard this yacht, we even created a shoe check for guests operated by our very own Pink Monkeys. This event was perfect from the food to the cocktails to the décor and the incredible venue just topped it off!

A Pocket full of Flowers!

Pink Monkey Events loves to come up with new and fun ideas! For this bridal shower we wanted to do something different but ultra girly! We created floral purses for the centerpieces made completely of leaves, moss and of course, flowers. With a bright pink and green theme these arrangements made for an adorable detail. The purses made from moss were decorated with stripped ribbon with a dangling jewel full of gorgeous pink flowers with tons of leaves. One helpful tip is how to keep the leaves and flowers looking fresh all party long. You can go to B&J Floral Supplies on 28^th Street in NYC for a spray called leaf shine. This handy spray gives flowers and leaves a just picked from the garden look. Putting a new spin on traditional centerpieces adds interest to any party. Not only are these centerpieces beautiful but can be used for mother’s day, birthday parties, bridal showers and baby showers so keep them in mind for your next event!

Black and White Vs. Color

In the battle against Black and white vs. color, for this wedding- classic won! A black & white wedding can make just as much of an impact as one with an abundance of colors. The trick to making a black & white wedding work is how you play with the elements. In order not to make the wedding too dark, be sure to only use subtle touches of black like they did in this wedding with the table numbers. These two colors work best with black as the accent. Since there were no colors to create drama we included candles and hanging crystals to create interest. This classic combination can be ultra chic and sophisticated if done right. Remember it’s not the color that makes the wedding, it’s what you do with it!

Pink Monkey Events Goes Destination!

Pink Monkey Events goes to Captiva Island for an unforgettable wedding. This wedding was so beautiful that InTouch Weekly compared it to celebrity, Jewel, and husband Ty Murray’s wedding. The vibrant colors of this event worked perfectly with the vivid green lawn, clear blue sky and beautiful view of the ocean. One of our favorite elements were the giant spheres of white mums placed throughout the tent as well as floating in the pool. The white flowers against the blue water in the pool made for an incredible sight. The simplistic theme of mostly white with a pop of chartreuse green made this wedding appropriate for its gorgeous location. Since Captiva Island is so beautiful we wanted to make sure to incorporate the location into the event. This grand white tent was filled with long, simplistic tables adorned with a punch of lime green in flower arrangements lining the center of each table. We love to do destination weddings because although NYC is amazing, these events give us an opportunity to give our clients their dream event in their dream location!

Ordinary to Extraordinary

We here at Pink Monkey love to transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary spaces. This basic courtyard became a plush lounge for a trendy Bar Mitzvah. A little fabric and throw pillows go a long way! We padded the benches to create comfortable sitting area and covered it with gorgeous fabrics. Also, in adding fabric curtains to the wall made the space much more inviting and warm. With a blank space we like to include an array of colors and textures to give the area as much personality as possible. When looking at a space with a creative eye you never know what you can create! This challenge led to amazing results. We love to create beauty from a blank slate or a unique space and Pink Monkey is always up for a challenge!

Pink Monkey Loves Pink!

Pink can be fabulous as long as it is done right. Valerie’s baby shower shows as long as it is used in subtle shades (no Pepto Bismol pink here!) and used with a complementing color, pink can be both sophisticated and feminine. Since this baby shower was done in spring we used more of a muted palette of colors. The faint green and peachy pink shades truly made for a perfect pairing. With the addition of a checkered ribbon the entire theme had a homemade touch. As always every detail was connected so even the menus were printed on light pink paper to stay consistent.

Another playful element was the washcloths we handmade to look like bunnies. Since we included some soap inside the washcloth, it added a lovely scent to the entire room. The message of all this is that pink can be perfect but be sure not to go over the top. Pink Monkey truly loves pink but of course as with everything, always in moderation!

No Frills Here...

For Gabrielle and Matthew’s wedding we wanted to make sure their true love for each other shined. We could tell how in love they were just by the way they looked at each other and being the hopeless romantics we are, we wanted their true love to be reflected in their décor. After all, the couple’s love is the most important aspect of any wedding! The bride was so beautiful that this wedding needed to incorporate her sophistication and grace. This couple’s classic style inspired us to create a simple and elegant wedding for them with a color palette of soft pinks and ivory. Understated glamour made this wedding truly timeless. The muted colors, romantic details and abundance of candles made this wedding feel intimate despite its size. True love is the base to any amazing wedding and we used Gabrielle and Matthew’s love as inspiration to make their special day as special as their love.

Green with Envy

Make your friends envious of your amazing event and use the not so common color, green. Green is rarely incorporated into themes of weddings but this color represents more than greed and envy. Green actually symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and peace which are all important characteristics for a good marriage. At Stephanie and Mikes wedding at Tribecca Rooftop, green was the accent chosen to bring the outdoors in. We also include crisp white to balance the vibrant green.

This fabulous color scheme of this wedding stayed consistent allowing from everything from the save the dates to thank you cards to include this unique, green detail. The invitations were a special touch because they were actually done by one of the bridesmaids, Talia. The gorgeous flower arrangements at this wedding were done by Rountree Flowers.

For weddings with a lot of out of town guests it is great to incorporate this exciting city into your wedding. Plus your guests will definitely appreciate the thoughtful gesture. This grand center piece for the escort card table was the perfect way to bring nature into the this industrial space. Our biggest tip is don't be afraid to go bold on your big day! Taking risks can pay off big in the end.

Red Light, Green Light, 1, 2, 3!

Pink Monkey also loves red! After all, the monkey does love color. Red can be used for any occasion for both genders at any age. Whether it is a 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd birthday or other life cycle event, red can work perfectly. We do love red for children’s birthdays as seen in the photos below. For this party we included simple white tying in the colorful candy and gingham pattern. We love to bring the outdoors in so we included grass in the baskets holding up the yummy lollipop favors. This grass matched the bright green daisy stems exposed in the clear vases holding the flower arrangements. This fun theme delighted children and adults alike. Everyone loves candy no matter the age. Getting candy in some cool candy favors are always a success! Vibrant colors such as red and tasty treats can make any party fun for both the children and the adult guests.

Not Your Average Valentines Day

For this wedding on Valentine’s Day there were no red or hearts in sight! Just because your wedding is on Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean you need to be seeing red for your big day. A theme of purple and leopard print made for a trendy and edgy V-day. Deep purple fit the lounge setting of this event and fit the couple’s personality. Going with a loungy feel we also offered signature cocktails at the party such as ‘The New Yorker’ shown below. We did incorporate the Valentine's Day holiday in the candy with a sophisticated and chic candy table but we used shades of purple. This playful touch was the perfect way to acknowledge the day without going overboard. Our Valentine’s Day wedding might not be what people expected but with a romantic yet funky vibe this wedding was unlike anyone elses!

Winter Wonderland Wedding

In the winter time it is difficult to incorporate the season without going overboard with cliche holiday decor. We came up with a couple of ways to give a hint of the first winter's frost. For this January wedding we used pine cones as the stand for the escort cards. By adding a little touch of fake snow and a white glittered table cloth it brought the outdoors in for this event. Cupcakes are perfect for the winter season. These bite size sweets have a pearl coating on the frosting giving the feeling of a winter wonderland.When planning your wedding, in any season, it is important to not go overboard incorporating the time of year. These two examples show that little hints and small details are the best way to balance the theme and season for your big day.

We Love NYC!

Since we are located in the amazing city of New York, we love nothing more than a NYC theme. The elegance and style of Manhattan makes it the perfect theme for chic party. Pink Monkey Events was featured in BizBash magazine for our savvy NYC party. If you cannot afford the pricey views of the real New York City skyline than just light it up! We used a lighting effect of the city skyline and projected it onto a curtain to create our very own skyline. Taxi themed favors and details were also included to complete the NYC theme, which also brought in the bright yellow as a fun accent color. Taxis are the epitome of this city so they’re an absolute must (we think the old time taxis are the coolest!). The NYC theme is so versatile so whether you are planning a wedding or corporate party, feel free to include this wonderful city!

I think we can all agree that what every girl wants in a proposal is to see that her fiancée put time and effort into making it special. We at Pink Monkey Events feel that the best proposals are intimate and romantic such as this one shown. We are always available to help out our male clients as well! Some helpful tips for a perfect proposal all include being true to yourself, after all your soon to be fiancée loves you for you! Think about your personalities and the things that make her happy. Such as in this featured proposal, you can make a tree with each branch stating the reasons why you love her. Think of all the little reasons to make it really personal and special for her. And remember, when all else fails think candles. We’ve never met a girl who didn’t love them! Candles instantly create a romantic and warm feel so think candles, candles and more candles.

A Signature PINK Monkey Event

This wedding was one of our most memorable because it included our favorite color! We love a pink event because after all it is our favorite color. Even the bride’s gorgeous shoes were hot pink! Pink is a cheery and bright color which was a very appropriate fit for this wedding. This event proves how much of an impact a color can have if used correctly. The reception was warm and fun incorporating various shades of pink with chic gold chairs and yummy chocolate brown linens. NYC was included in the theme with mini taxis acting as seating cards for a playful New York touch.
